Mauritius has been known since the 1990’s to be a country free of corruption, where there is harmony in diversity. However, now corruption is embedding its path in the beautiful core of our country and it is up to the generation now to act. At all level the country is corrupted. Getting a job without recommendation is almost next to impossible. If the laws are reinforced, politicians stop recommending people but let everyone a chance to get a job, the situation in our country will improve. Independent bodies, such as ICAC, should act independently. There is still hope to see our Mauritius island become a country where equality, progress and brotherhood prevail. The institutions should work independently.
