Each time when C.W.A shuts off the main water supply, the pipe is filled by Air. When C.W.A opens the main supply valves, the air in the main pipe passes through the water meter of the consumers. As air is lighter than water (about 800 times), when it passes through the meter, it is recorded faster than the water. This is the reason why consumers pay more money but get less water. To remedy this situation, an air valve should be fitted before the consumer water meter to remove the air so that consumers may get satisfaction instead of paying excess money.
