Free transport is a major waste in Mauritius revenue.
This is a pure idiot decision by government.
    Public are misused this facility.
Student are abuse the education system.

    Solutions
Government can pay the old age an additional amount on the pension then the person who can’t voyage by bus can pay a taxi or contact transport to go to a necessary place.
That will definitely decrease road accident and traffic jam.
For students government must pay only students who really wants to study and this encouragement will start payment of only who are at least 95 percent present at the school and with 75 percent of aggregate exam results.
This will assure that students are going to school and will at least try to attend there classes every day cause every one know how much students are serious in Mauritius.
Government will certificate all students who are respecting the education.

Dear sir, I commend your efforts and collaboration into bringing your thoughts. You have rights because you are a tax payer and you paid for students to benefit from free transport. The thing is that there are many students who cannot pay the bus fares hence the free transport has helped them to get access to the education cell and hoping them to bring 75 % rate is absolutely not possible for everybody. Government cannot eliminate such a system that is helping people.
Minor changes can be effected to make the system better otherwise the system is runnibg 80 to 90 % effective (as per my calculations) and in most regions at 100 % effective through officials pressure and monitoring. The problem at refunding students may cause more fund being spent by the government as bus contractors are paid far less than they would have charged individually and earn more. It is the quality that should improve and nothing else.
You have the right to comment as a tax payer and we have benefitted from your money. I am glad that people(handicaps, eldery and students) are getting free transport. We should not forget about the budgeting and cost to the society. Principally, we want the handicaps and eldery persons to have their rights. The system improves the quality of life of many people. Long live Mauritius.

I have a research on free transport as an insurance claim officer I have found that senior citizens are using unnecessary travel by bus and they are traveling timely when people are going to work
This causes tardiness for buses and to accelerate for rapid traffic that cause accident and mainly senior citizens are injured so that isn’t call a right decision
For students as PTA president I have an inquiry about the absence of students are free transport where parents didn’t manage about where and when there wards are going
Before entering school students are visiting garden and seaside
Bus conductors are not serious about the students pass
Student who are respecting there education are making friendship with bad friends just because both know very well how to mist the school just free transport where they want to go they are free
That’s situation today drugs are commonly used by students because money that a parent afford are using unnecessarily and the value of hard working is not represent any idea for students
When someone told a student how hard his parents working the answer is
My parents are working for himself for school free transport free nothing they have to manage
Ask someone who travel by bus they will tell how much problem occurring with free transport

    Dear sir,
You did very good research. You are commendable for your efforts. As you are a PTA president so you can make it mandatory that 90% presence is applicable for all as it is now for SC and HSC students in order or them to sit for exams. You have the ability to make teachers take presence in schools wife a day though you apply it at same scale but still atleast ou did the effort to make it possible at your level.

Do not worry over time, we will design such a system where parents would be able to monitor their wards from time to time. It takes time but it will surely come. Just keep following. We need to make good students to be good citizens as we all wished.

Elders can ever be blamed as their cognitive ability diminishes over time. They should always be helped.

    Regards,
    Asvin.

This the edited version as the previous one had grammatical errors.
    DEAR SIR,
YOU DID VERY GOOD RESEARCH. YOU ARE COMMENDABLE FOR YOUR EFFORTS. AS YOU ARE A PTA PRESIDENT SO YOU CAN MAKE IT MANDATORY THAT 90% PRESENCE IS APPLICABLE FOR ALL AS IT IS NOW FOR SC AND HSC STUDENTS IN ORDER for THEM TO SIT for EXAMS. YOU HAVE THE ABILITY TO MAKE TEACHERS TAKE PRESENCE IN schools twice A DAY THOUGH YOU APPLY IT AT SAME SCALE BUT STILL ATLEAST you will do THE EFFORT TO MAKE IT POSSIBLE AT YOUR LEVEL.

    REGARDS,
    ASVIN.
