    Prof S. Jugessur.

The greatest challenge is the mindset of the business and productive sectors, where profit maximisation and corporate and individual interests predominate. With such mindset the gap between haves and have nots increases and social unrests amplify. To top all these, the Paris agreement to restrict carbon emissions to 2 degrees pre – industrial period is not achievable because of increasing consumption and resource wastage. Development has to be within such parameters with some spiritual approach to life. We are being bombarded by media messages saying we have only one life and we have to live it to the full. Policy changes and massive promotion by all sectors including government will have to be ensured.
