    Description:
The population of Mauritius is expected to start falling by 2050. A decline population will not only impact on our working population, but it also means that lower population creates lower aggregate demand leading to the vicious circle of lower investment, lower productivity and finally lower growth rates.

    Potential solutions:
There is a need to find ways and means to encourage the population to have more children. However, in the Short Run, the only solution is to provide schemes that would attract foreign talents to come and work in Mauritius. An attractive package could also be provided to our diaspora overseas to come back and contribute to the growth of the nation.
